About my Start-up

PROTe-IN is a fully independent innovative start-up founded in December 2020 in Bologna, Italy, after few years of stealth R&D.

We are innovating autotrophic biomass microbial fermentation to produce alternative proteins, collagen and biofabricated ingredients via a moon-shot proprietary continuous C02 fermentation technology and next gen syngas bioreactors. Our fermentation process will create time, cost and performance efficiencies like no other technology on the market today.

Why your idea is a “winner"?:

PROTe-IN output is substantially equal to top-performing proteins under all key nutritional variables, BUT FEATURING:

- 100% FREE-FROM

What is your current or intended business/revenue model?:

A TWO-PRONGED REVENUE MODEL WITH MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES. The IP model and the manufacturing streams, as follows:

IP MODEL, i.e. 4 "adoption-builder" revenue streams:
1. CO2 trading and recycling
2. Research, as NRE/POC o specific product applications
3. License of our ingredient-based recipes, either “one shot” or licence-fee based
4. Licence of Fermentation Tech (InfinityTM), including software and hardware licence-fee

MANUFACTURING, i.e. 2 "high-marginality" revenue streams:
1. Joint Venture model to be adopted on large production capacity needs, including engineering blueprinting and plant building consultancy
2. Direct2Consumers or Whitelabelled Production of Collagen, via our UAE-based plant

Do you have any Patent or IP registered (related to the solution that you are looking for an investment)?:

Yes, a WIP PCT patent pending in regards to the industrial microbial fermentation process, utilising syngas technology with C02 as feedstock.

Has your technology already been implemented in any field/sector?:

Yes, harvesting of Alternative Protein in single-batch (SOLAR FOODS, AIR PROTEIN, ARKEON). Our key difference is the up to twenty fold the efficiency thanks to our Infinity fermentation process in continuous and the flexibility to utilise a plethora of different bacteria strains.

Which market and customer need(s)/problem(s) is (are) your products(s)/service(s) going to solve?:

- PRICE PARITY ALT PROTEINS: 3 UDS/KG
- Top BV single-cell proteins, completely free-from (GMO, chemicals, allergens) featuring also top digestibility
